All My Children star resurfaces with health update after leaving Hollywood
Soap star Marcy Walker, 64, is facing a serious health issue and a GoFundMe has been launched to help. The fundraiser did not disclose her ailment but said financial support "is urgently needed." "Today, Marcy needs our help," the page reads. The campaign says all money raised will go directly to Walker to cover medical bills and personal expenses.
Her former "Santa Barbara" co-star A Martinez reunited with her for a two-hour livestream on June 7; fans were charged starting at $50 and all proceeds went to Walker. In an Instagram video, Martinez explained the fee, saying "Some folks have expressed disappointment over the cost," and that he had not spoken to the reasons earlier out of respect for her privacy.
"The fact is, Marcy has been ill and is working hard to get well," he added, noting she is facing the financial challenges that often accompany serious medical care. Walker played Liza Colby on "All My Children" from 1982 to 2005 and starred on "Santa Barbara" from 1984 to 1991, winning a Daytime Emmy in 1989.
