Alien Isolation 2 trailer debuts at Summer Game Fest
Alien Isolation 2 made its first appearance at Summer Game Fest and is confirmed for PS5, Xbox, Steam, and the Switch 2. No release date was announced. The trailer opens on a fog-shrouded colony world as a narrator speaks in Japanese about last chances and how “the company” doesn’t forgive mistakes; another character, presumably Amanda Ripley, replies that they understand.
The footage cuts to a writhing alien spine, broken ventilation shafts, and the xenomorph’s slimy maw before a scream brings up the title card. The game is said to take place on an isolated colony planet, suggesting more open environments than the cramped spaceship of the first game.
That shift echoes the move from Alien’s ship-bound setting to Aliens’ colony-overrun story. The original Alien Isolation, released in 2014, earned a solid reception that grew more reverential over time; fans praised the xenomorph’s intelligence and the game’s unrelenting atmosphere, while detractors found it overly oppressive.
