Alex Morgan backs USMNT to make World Cup run
If anyone knows what it feels like to be days away from a World Cup, it’s Alex Morgan. The U.S. women's legend played in three World Cups, won two, and competed in three Olympics. Now retired, she remains involved as an investor in women's sports, founder of Togethxr and a full-time soccer mom.
Reflecting on tournament life, she urged players to "Always be ready." Morgan will attend the USMNT’s World Cup games in Los Angeles and says Mauricio Pochettino’s side has the quality to make a run. She highlighted the team's depth and attacking options, called the last game against Germany a good step forward, and added, "I feel like they’re gonna go far." Her advice is straightforward: start fast.
"I think the first game is the most important game for them to make their mark," she said, warning that the team cannot afford to be playing catch-up.
