Alannah Keyser apologizes after being booted from Love Island USA

Alannah Keyser apologized after a resurfaced video led to her being booted from "Love Island USA." In a TikTok post Saturday she addressed a clip of her singing along to Roddy Ricch’s 2019 track "The Box," which contains a racial slur. She said she was sorry to anyone offended and noted the video is from six years ago, adding that the word is not in her vocabulary anymore.

Keyser also challenged circulating screenshots she called falsified and said she does not support racism or discrimination of any kind. The USC film school student said her heart "broke" when she learned the material was circulating online, called the episode a learning lesson and said it prevented her from showing her personality.

She added it is in her nature to spread positivity and help others, and that she will continue to do so. Keyser was fired from Season 8 of "Love Island" after the clip resurfaced. Producers edited her out as much as possible from pre-taped episodes, trimming her scenes though not removing her completely.
