Alan Ritchson’s War Machine Sequel Deepens Reacher-Like Role

Reacher Season 4 remains one of the most anticipated Alan Ritchson projects, but fans have another reason to be excited: Ritchson now fronts two action franchises. The new role doesn't tie canonically to Reacher, yet viewers who enjoy the Prime Video series will likely appreciate seeing him lead another high-profile action property.

Netflix released War Machine in February 2026, with Ritchson playing a soldier known only as 81. The Predator-inspired sci-fi follows him through an elite military training exercise that goes wrong as he tries to join a specialized task force. Critics were relatively lukewarm, but audiences streamed the film heavily; it offers a poignant storyline, tense stealth encounters and high-octane sequences.

War Machine 2 has been confirmed, and the films draw clear parallels with Reacher without being identical. Both protagonists share a documented military past, carry the weight of personal loss and are played with Ritchson’s trademark stoicism.
