Final Fantasy VII Revelation will conclude Square Enix’s remake trilogy, bringing Cloud, Sephiroth and the rest of the cast to a final chapter. Director Naoki Hamaguchi has shared details about what players can expect ahead of the game’s spring 2027 launch. The world will be open from the start: Cid’s Highwind lets players fly anywhere on the planet, revisiting familiar spots and exploring new locales such as Wutai and Rocket Town.

The ship’s size is handled with a seamless parachute transition from deck to ground, and Hamaguchi says the team has streamlined the experience to avoid the overwhelming sprawl some felt in Rebirth. Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine join as permanent party members; Vincent can transform into beasts while Cid strikes from above with spear attacks.

Revelation also introduces FITS, a fashion-based job system that customizes abilities — all FITS become available at once when the system unlocks, letting characters mix roles like swordplay and black-mage magic.
