AirPods Max 2 Drops to $510 on Amazon as Discounts Appear
After almost five years, Apple released the second-generation AirPods Max in April. Now, Amazon has most colors marked down to $510 from the $549 launch price, a $40 saving; midnight, blue, purple and starlight are at that price, while the orange model is $529 after a $20 discount.
The new model includes Apple’s H2 chipset, which provides up to a 50% boost in noise cancellation quality. Adaptive Audio adjusts the level of noise cancellation to suit your environment, Conversation Awareness can lower the volume when you begin a conversation, and Transparency mode still lets ambient sound in without removing the headphones.
Apple switched to USB-C for charging, allowing the headphones to use the same cable as newer iPhones and other devices. USB-C wired audio supports lossless listening at 24-bit/48kHz; later first-generation AirPods Max gained this capability after Apple moved to USB-C, while the earliest models launched with the Lightning port.
