Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library! climbed Twitch charts this spring after players discovered its slow, methodical loop of picking up and organizing 3,072 books across a fantastical library. The game, made by a two-person indie team called ArtRising, adds magical abilities that speed the work and has inspired both casual streams and speedruns; it reached around 29,000 concurrent players at peak.

At the very bottom of its Steam page the developers disclosed they used generative AI for a small amount of asset refinement and for grammatical corrections. The note says four assets—one UI component and three landscape paintings—were refined with AI, none were created from scratch by AI, and text corrections were carefully reviewed and adjusted by hand.

That admission provoked negative reviews, calls for AI-free options, and a few streamers cancelling planned broadcasts.
