The Steam Release Bot on Bluesky highlighted Kryonull, a visual novel whose majority of assets were generated by AI and which is being sold on Steam for $100 US (listed as £90 in the UK). The game's core idea sounds like solid hard sci‑fi: a small, manned mission to Europa must make snap decisions with major consequences as it makes first contact with something under the ice.

The developer says the script is the one thing not generated by AI, but the store's AI disclosure delivers a blunt line: "All images and voices in the game, as well as on the store page, were generated using AI." SteamDB shows the ruble price still converts to about $53 US, and that combination of AI assets and a steep price leaves little room for benefit of the doubt.

Kryonull has become an example of the flow of low-effort releases that can appear on an open platform, a situation the piece links to Valve's compromises with payment processors and occasional unforced, confounding prudishness.
