With memory and storage prices squeezing the PC market, Acer has responded by stripping local gaming hardware from its latest handheld. The Nitro Blaze Link joins the Blaze lineup but, unlike its siblings with Ryzen APUs and NVMe storage, it ships with just 1 GB of memory and 8 GB of eMMC storage for a Linux operating system, PC Mag notes.

The device has a 7-inch touchscreen at 1920 x 1200 resolution, though its refresh rate and main chip remain unspecified. It does include Wi‑Fi 6E, and the lightweight, low-power design—an 18 Wh battery and a 464‑gram (16 ounce) weight—should keep fans quiet most of the time.

A major limitation is compatibility: the Blaze Link will only work with a compatible Acer laptop and Acer’s streaming ecosystem, using Sunshine and Moonlight for the stream. It may function with other systems, but Acer is unlikely to offer support, and it must be on the same wireless network as the host gaming PC, so it’s intended for in‑home use rather than travel.
