The Biggest Batman Comic of the Century Is Officially Coming to TV
Absolute Batman, one of the most successful Batman books of the century, is being adapted into an animated series. Warner Bros. revealed the project at its panel at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Scott Snyder will serve as executive producer and showrunner, and artist Nick Dragotta will produce.
The series is in development and no release date has been announced. The story takes place in the Absolute Universe, an Earth corrupted and manipulated by Darkseid. In this take, Bruce Wayne grows up working-class in Crime Alley after his father is killed in a mass shooting.
Raised by his mother, he becomes a Reacher-sized civil engineer by day and a masked vigilante by night, lacking the usual wealth, power and equipment of the traditional Dark Knight. He must confront nightmarish versions of familiar foes, including a monstrous, seemingly immortal Joker, a weather-controlling Mr.
