Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Transformation for New Werewolf Movie Revealed
Aaron Taylor-Johnson and director Robert Eggers first teamed up on the 2024 gothic horror Nosferatu. Taylor-Johnson appeared in a supporting role alongside Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp and Willem Dafoe, with the film earning four Academy Award nominations, including Best Costume Design and Best Makeup and Hairstyling, after the cast underwent significant transformations to fit the 1830s setting.
The pair reunited quickly for Eggers' next feature, Werwulf, which puts Taylor-Johnson in the leading role. The story unfolds in 13th century England, as the director shifts his focus from vampires to werewolves.
Werwulf centers on "a mysterious creature" that "stalks a foggy countryside as local folklore becomes a terrifying reality for the villagers." That bloodthirsty beast is played by Taylor-Johnson.
Esquire has released a first look at his character, showing a dramatic change from his appearance in Nosferatu.
