50 Years Later, the 'Rocky' Franchise Is Streaming on Netflix
Netflix has added the entire Rocky franchise to its June update. All nine films are now available: Rocky (1976), Rocky II (1979), Rocky III (1982), Rocky IV (1985), Rocky V (1990), Rocky Balboa (2006), Creed (2015), Creed II (2018) and Creed III (2023). Fifty years after the original, the series remains a touchstone for underdog stories.
Rocky Balboa’s journey, both in and out of the ring, has long stood as an example of persistence, humility and hard work turning the ordinary into something extraordinary. New entries are limited for the moment. A biopic titled I Play Rocky is scheduled for release on November 13, 2026, and a prequel TV series called Delphi, set at the Delphi Boxing Academy, is in early development for Prime Video with Ryan Coogler and Michael B.
Jordan producing. A previously teased prequel appears to have stalled amid a rights dispute. It remains unclear whether Sylvester Stallone will return to the role; the biopic reportedly does not involve him, while Delphi will focus on other characters in the same universe.
