5 of last year's best Nintendo Switch 2 games are on sale today

It should come as little surprise that the year that saw the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 included multiple Mario entries among the best games of 2025. If you didn't pick them up at the time, you can do it now — and at a discount thanks to Amazon Prime Day. The slightly less good news is that several of the best Switch 2 games are made by Nintendo, which has long made its stance on discounts pretty clear.

That stance, in case you weren't aware, means big first-party hits like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza aren't likely to be reduced anywhere you look. Even for Pokemon Legends Z-A, an older game that came out on Switch 1, I had to look a bit further afield.

Either way, there's plenty to enjoy at good prices, including full-fledged GOTY candidates like Hollow Knight Silksong and Hades 2. You might want to move quick though — Amazon Prime Day draws to an end this evening, so these deals might not be hanging around for too much longer.
