5 gadgets I'm buying this summer to grow my green thumb
I've never been good at keeping plants alive: every houseplant I've had has reached an untimely end, and I even forgot to winterize the herb garden I tended last summer. This year I'm determined to change that, and I could use gadgets that make the process a little easier.
With Amazon's Prime Day event this week, I found deals on gardening tools I'll be buying to help me finally have success. For indoor plants I tried a clip light that clamps to the edge of the pot and has an adjustable gooseneck. It includes an automatic timer for three, six or 12 hours and four brightness settings so you won't fry the leaves; my money tree in a low-light corner has been thriving under one of these.
I also plan to use a moisture meter that sticks into the pot or ground to track soil moisture and air temperature in real time, and an accompanying app provides planting instructions and optimal benchmarks for common plants such as aloe vera, ivy and ficus.
