The Alienware AW2525HM is a 320 Hz IPS monitor currently selling for $230 at Newegg, a $20 discount, making it a noteworthy Prime Day upgrade for competitive FPS players. A 320 Hz refresh rate and low latency sit in a sweet spot for competitive gaming; moving up from 240 Hz, and especially from 144 Hz, makes flicks and quick peeks feel much snappier.

Measurements showed a noticeable improvement in end-to-end latency when stepping up from 144 Hz. Unlike some esports models that use TN panels, this Alienware uses IPS, which is more versatile for casual gaming and everyday use. Its HDR performance is particularly strong: playing Doom Eternal with HDR revealed a wider gamut, richer colours, and natural dark contrast.

For those prioritising image sharpness, a 1440p panel will still look nicer due to higher pixel density.
