20 Games From Summer Game Fest's Day of the Devs
Day of the Devs, Double Fine’s non-profit indie showcase, returned to Summer Game Fest with a fresh roster of unique upcoming titles. The show featured 20 games, including several world premieres, and viewers could watch the full presentation or scroll through the lineup.
Highlights ranged from Blood Dungeon, a hand-drawn 2D platformer/autoshooter where you navigate mazelike dungeons chased by goofy monsters, to Tenebris Somnia, a survival horror that alternates between retro pixel art and unsettling live-action cutscenes. Other notable entries included Mr.
Records, a rhythm-adventure and vinyl shop management sim, and 33 Immortals, a co-op action roguelite that pits up to 33 players against the divine. The showcase also presented varied experiments in tone and genre: Dreadmoor is a fishing adventure in a rotting fantasy world, Threads of Time is a turn-based RPG about captaining a time-traveling airship, and N Plus Infinity Times Two revisits momentum-based multiplayer platforming.
