007 First Light sequels to be handled by MGM and possibly Amazon
007 First Light has been described as a strong James Bond videogame, and early appearances suggest it is a hit. Amazon Gaming general manager Jeff Gattis says more entries are expected, though who will make them remains unclear. Amazon acquired the Bond movie franchise in 2025, five years after IO Interactive announced its game.
Because of that pre-existing deal, Amazon did not have the full rights to First Light, allowing IOI to self-publish; Gattis said sequels will be "done by MGM and, theoretically, by Amazon Game Studios." Gattis framed future Bond games as part of a broader strategy to blur the lines between video, TV and videogames, saying Amazon sees opportunities to expand IP across media.
He pointed to a Tomb Raider TV show on Prime Video that will sit alongside games and mentioned other projects tied to Prime Video IP. Amazon scaled back big-budget development in 2025 but continues to publish some titles, such as the upcoming Tomb Raider games Legacy of Atlantis and Catalyst.
