An X user named Pseudoku has shared a DIY fingertip mouse that looks part spider, part exposed electronics. It places several small platforms over a mouse’s internals so you can rest your fingers, creating a design that some will find novel and others off-putting.

The creator has open-sourced the project on GitHub, supplying STL files for 3D-printing and a SCAD file you can edit to match your hand. The repository also includes step-by-step instructions showing where to place the internals, how to attach the printed parts, and where to position the battery.

The catch is you need to sacrifice another mouse to build it. Pseudoku disassembled an HSK Pro to harvest its buttons, battery, and sensor, then attached the components to the side in a Frankenstein’s-Monster fashion. The base is comically small—effectively the top half of a gaming mouse—so the finished kit weighs 26.8 g while using an 8,000 Hz sensor, and the compact internals make it easy to build around a single clump of components.
