The Hunting Party hits No. 2 on Peacock after Season 2 premiere

Movieweb reports that The Hunting Party is currently the second most popular show on Peacock following the premiere of Season 2 on Jan. 8, 2026.

The NBC procedural, which first aired in January 2025, centers on a small team of investigators hunting the nation's most dangerous killers after they escape from a secret prison. The series stars Melissa Roxburgh, Nick Wechsler, Patrick Sabongui, Josh McKenzie and Sara Garcia, and has been compared to shows like Criminal Minds and The Blacklist for its mix of high drama, action and moral ambiguity.

Critics have been harsh—the show holds a 25% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes—while viewers have embraced it, giving an audience score of 83%. Season 1 comprises 10 episodes and Season 2 airs every Thursday on NBC and streams the following day on Peacock; the official synopsis says the series thrusts its lead into "a world of intrigue and conspiracy" as she grapples with "the enduring mystery of what was happening at this prison and who caused the explosion in the first place."
