MovieWeb reports that Sydney Sweeney's Paul Feig thriller The Housemaid has now passed the domestic box office total of her previous highest-earning lead film, 2023 rom-com Anyone But You.

Anyone But You grossed over $88 million in U.S. cinemas, and The Housemaid is heading toward $90 million in its fourth weekend while a $150 million worldwide gross is described as "well within sight." The film opened last month and its theatrical run is expected to be followed by VOD and streaming releases.

Sweeney's other 2025 releases — Americana, Eden and Christy — underperformed at the box office despite Americana and Eden finding streaming success. A sequel is reportedly underway; director Paul Feig told the outlet he enjoyed "messing with an audience" and praised the source material, and The Housemaid remains in cinemas ahead of its digital rollout. Known release details list a December 19, 2025 release date, a 131-minute runtime and Paul Feig as director.
