SVU debuts Captain Renee Curry’s son Gabe in Season 27 episode

Nbc reports that Season 27 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit introduced Captain Renee Curry’s teenage son, Gabe, in the episode “Fidelis ad Mortem.” The role was played by Jay Mack and Curry is portrayed by Aimé Donna Kelly.

The episode opens with Gabe and friends finding a thrifted cassette that contains a recording of a woman being sexually assaulted. Gabe brings the tape to his mother, who takes it to the 16th Precinct and involves Olivia Benson. Benson and Curry acknowledge the impact on Gabe, and the episode notes both Curry and Gabe see therapists. Tracing the tape led the squad to an estate sale basement where they found 27‑year‑old human remains identified as a missing woman named Tameka, a former informant. Detectives concluded she was murdered by a group of corrupt officers; two suspects were arrested and a D.A. investigator was identified as the alleged mastermind, bringing what the episode describes as justice after nearly three decades.
