Sturdy chitin locations in Hytale's Howling Sands

Pcgamer reports that sturdy chitin in Hytale is found in the Howling Sands desert biome and must be gathered to upgrade crafting workbenches.

Sturdy chitin drops from Scarak mobs (Defender, Fighter, Louse, Seeker, and Broodmother) as well as scorpions, armadillos, and tortoises. Scarak nests often appear as grey/brown spotty blocks in caves and can contain multiple Scaraks; Fighters drop one or two chitin, Defenders drop two or three, and breaking blue egg sacks can spawn a Louse that has a chance to drop additional chitin. Surface mobs such as tortoises typically yield only one or two chitin each.

You need 40 chitin to upgrade the Armoror's Workbench to tier 3 and 5 chitin to raise the Tanning Rack to level 2, a total of 45 chitin. The guide advises regularly revisiting Scarak nests and killing scorpions, armadillos, and tortoises in the Howling Sands to accumulate the required amount.
