Steven Knight Hints Possible Third Season for A Thousand Blows
Collider reports that Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight hinted at the future of his boxing drama A Thousand Blows in an interview, saying, "Always a view to the future, yeah," and the piece said it seemed like a matter of 'when' and not 'if' a third season is announced. The article also notes Knight remains busy with Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, scheduled to hit theaters on March 6 and Netflix on March 20, 2026.
The second season of A Thousand Blows arrived last weekend on Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and Disney+, led by Malachi Kirby, Stephen Graham, and Erin Doherty, and earned a near-perfect 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing. A season synopsis reads: "Mary is back to reassemble the Forty Elephants and reclaim her crown. She sobers Sugar up, she has a use for him yet, and forms a reluctant alliance with Hezekiah to take down Indigo Jeremy once and for all. As always, Mary has a plan. And this time it's riskier than ever." Knight said the first season established characters and that season two allowed him "to go a bit deeper and be a bit more expansive with each of the characters," putting them "in situations where ... they really are put to the test."
Knight's comments suggest more storylines may follow, though the interview framed that as seeming like a question of timing rather than possibility. Season 2 is available to stream on Disney+, Hulu, and Hulu on Disney+.
