A hands-on demo of Star Wars: Galactic Racer revealed an unexpected twist: the single-player campaign plays like a roguelite. An event flowchart with branching paths guides each run, turning a fast-paced racing game into a sequence of remixed challenges that change from attempt to attempt.

The core racing is fast and spectacular, blending Burnout-style takedowns with podracing spectacle. Players can drift, boost and build up a Ramjet burst that briefly sends vehicles into hyperdrive, while ramming opponents triggers slow‑motion carnage. The demo let me jump between speeders, bikes and unruly podracers across diverse tracks that include Jakku’s scrap graveyards, Ando Prime’s alien jungles and Lantanna’s lava-filled caverns.

Vehicles also have activatable powers such as shields and a fire attack, with four equipment slots visible though only one was available in the session. Campaign mode casts you as Shade, a Galactic League racer aiming to dethrone star driver Kestar Bool.
