SpaceX filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission seeking to raise $75 billion in an initial public offering, proposing 555,555,555 shares of common stock at $135 per share. That offering would be more than twice the size of the prior IPO record, Aramco's $29 billion debut.

The updated filing follows an earlier S-1 that provided an unprecedented look into the finances and mission of one of the world's most valuable private companies.

Under the proposed offering size, Elon Musk—who serves as CEO, CTO, and chairman—would retain roughly 82% of the voting power of the company's common stock, allowing him to maintain significant control.

The S-1 is a required step ahead of an IPO, and SpaceX is expected to make its stock-market debut this month. The company is one of several high-profile tech listings anticipated soon, including OpenAI and Anthropic, which filed its own S-1 this week.
