Nearly two months after Microsoft said it had fixed the problem, many Xbox Series owners still cannot play backward-compatible Xbox 360 games on their Series consoles. When they try to launch certain Xbox 360 titles they see the error: “Can’t connect to Xbox Live.

Select Test Connection to troubleshoot your connection,” which leaves those games unplayable. Players report their internet connections are fine and that other online games work, yet the error messages have continued for weeks or months, cutting off access to large parts of their libraries.

For some, the issue stretches back to late last year. At the end of April, Xbox head of next‑gen Jason Ronald announced on Twitter/X that the problem should be fixed, and some users confirmed their games were playable again. Still, many others say the same or similar errors persist; one user reported it was stuck on “Getting your Xbox 360 info,” while another wrote, “Still not working.
