Collider reports that Taylor Sheridan’s Sicario: Day of the Soldado is now available to stream for free on Tubi.

The 2018 sequel, directed by Stefano Sollima and written by Sheridan, reunites Benicio del Toro as Alejandro and Josh Brolin as Matt Graver. It opens with a terrorist attack on American soil that prompts the government to label drug cartels as terrorists and authorize a covert operation that quickly spirals into kidnapping, political panic and moral compromise. The film removes Emily Blunt’s FBI agent as an audience surrogate, leaving the two men to operate unchecked and producing a colder, meaner picture that leans into violence, cynicism and "the idea that borders are little more than suggestions," the outlet says.

A review by Matt Goldberg said the sequel successfully recreates the original’s oppressive tone and technical polish but lacks a clear thematic anchor or character perspective, calling it well-acted yet deeply disappointing. Sicario: Day of the Soldado is streaming now on Tubi for free. Release date: June 27, 2018; runtime: 122 minutes; director: Stefano Sollima; writer: Taylor Sheridan.
