Sheinelle Jones returns to TV after husband’s death, launches 'Jenna and Sheinelle'
Pagesix reports that “Today” co‑host Sheinelle Jones this week launched her new 10 a.m. show with Jenna Bush Hager, “Jenna and Sheinelle,” with guests including Oprah Winfrey, and said the idea of returning to work after her husband Uche Ojeh’s death left her frozen.
Jones, 47, said she “worried that I wouldn’t know how to smile” and “worried that I wouldn’t know how to laugh,” after spending every waking moment by Ojeh’s side in hospice before he died last May at 45, about 18 months after a glioblastoma diagnosis. The couple had three children — son Kayin, 16, and twins Clara and Uche, 13 — and Jones has described the past months as moving between the hospital and the studio, with colleagues and friends urging her to step back when needed.
Jones officially joined Bush Hager on Monday and called the debut “an out of body experience.” She remains focused on raising her children and on raising awareness about glioblastoma, saying there is “no real cure” and expressing hope that greater awareness might help future patients even though a cure did not come in time for her husband.
