Severance creator says Season 3 will deliver even bigger surprises
Movieweb reports that Severance creator Dan Erickson says he is writing Season 3 and expects it to include even more shocking revelations than the show's first two seasons.
Erickson told Us Weekly that while writing Season 3 he has had the same feeling he had at the end of Season 2 and during key Season 2 moments: "Oh, my God, people are gonna freak out about this. They're gonna be mad, they're gonna be yelling at the TV, but they're gonna be excited." He added that "there are going to be a ton of moments that surprise people and rile people up, and I think it's going to be weird and funny," and said the season will continue expanding the Outie lives of characters while telling "the story of these people, of this small group of people, this work family."
Season 3 does not have a release date yet, though the series is expected to start filming in the spring. The report notes that Season 1 debuted on February 17, 2022, Season 2 premiered in early 2025, and it is possible the gap between Seasons 2 and 3 could be closer to two years rather than the three-year interval between Seasons 1 and 2. The report also highlights that Britt Lower and Tramell Tillman scored Emmy Awards for their roles during Season 2.
