Seth Meyers mocked Trump’s milk push after Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act signing
Seth Meyers mocked President Trump’s apparent enthusiasm for milk on Thursday after Mr. Trump signed the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act into law on Wednesday, a late-night segment noted.
Meyers joked that “there’s no way you drink milk, unless someone tricked you into thinking your Diet Coke came from a cow,” and added, “His brain is the way it is because he drinks milk.” He also quipped that the law “allows schools and their cafeterias to receive federal funding to serve 2 percent milk to help wash down the 5 percent chicken.”
On the show Meyers said that during the signing ceremony Mr. Trump offered reporters a swig from a jug of milk on the Resolute Desk and asked, “Remember the old days when we were kids? Everybody shared a bottle?” Jordan Klepper added, “I mean, how are these people intolerant of everything except lactose?”
The remarks were part of the program’s late-night roundup and focused on commentary and jokes; the segment did not provide further policy details or implementation timelines for the new law, beyond noting that Mr. Trump suggested a link between his cognitive tests and drinking milk.
