Real estate mogul reconciles with wife but keeps lawsuit
Giovana Stephenson and her husband, New York real estate mogul Abe Haruvi, have reconciled after she accused him of assault in 2021. Haruvi, however, has not withdrawn the lawsuit that alleges Stephenson, her son and her mother fabricated the claims to squeeze assets in a divorce.
Police were called to the couple’s 9,700-square-foot Palm Beach home in December 2021. Stephenson showed officers scratch marks and accused Haruvi of scratching and hitting her; he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery. Haruvi sued in 2022, accusing Stephenson and her son Jonathan of fabricating the assault allegation and accusing her mother of falsely reporting a planned kidnapping.
Their prenup would have given Stephenson $8,000,000 in cash plus the marital home free and clear if Haruvi were found guilty of certain batteries or kidnapping. The primary residence was valued at about $50 million in 2021, so she stood to receive nearly $60 million in assets, the lawsuit says.
