At Louis Vuitton’s runway on Tuesday evening, Pharrell presented a prefabricated glass-and-blond-wood house called DROPHAUS placed in the center of the show. The structure, which Mr. Gallagher said evoked Philip Johnson’s Glass House, included a kitchen furnished with midcentury modern pieces, a listening room with an imposing wall of speakers and a wardrobe prestocked with Louis Vuitton garments.

A string orchestra played, a gospel choir sang Pharrell songs, and stained-glass trunks appeared at regular intervals; Mr. Gallagher wrote that the spectacle repeatedly overshadowed the clothes. Viewed online, Mr. Gallagher found several noteworthy garments: a cable-knit sweater in two shades of red with front pockets, a tan suit in a sturdy twill that resembled camel’s hair, a simple gray Glen plaid overcoat and a crinkly blazer with a single button at the center of the rib cage, angular hip pockets and gathered cuffs.

He also noted Pharrell among designers endorsing suits and ties, even as some of his suits were shown with shorts, and observed that flashier pieces would likely sell to clients. After the show, Pharrell took a prolonged bow and greeted LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault and John Legend, Mr.

Gallagher reported.
