People reports that a pair of policemen unexpectedly appeared at a couple's wedding reception at the Croft Hotel in Darlington, England, looking for the bride's father.

Bride Robyn Ellis-Robson told SWNS she had secretly plotted the stunt with her husband, Arron, and her father, Steven. As shown in video of the moment, Robyn stepped outside to speak with the officers and returned visibly upset, yelling, "Not on my wedding day!" The men then entered and told the emcee they were looking for Steven, who was led out of the room as the emcee asked everyone to "please stay calm."

Minutes later one of the "policemen" returned with a microphone, asked the crowd if they were "ready to party," and began singing the Beatles' "All You Need Is Love," prompting guests to dance as Steven came back with the other performer. Robyn said she hired performers Steven James and Gary Hodgson after her original booking of singing policemen canceled three days before the wedding; a local singing waiters company found police uniforms for the stunt. She told SWNS her father had forgotten he was in on the prank, guests initially panicked — one cousin "thought it was real" and shouted at the actors — and the surprise then helped set a lively atmosphere that everyone enjoyed.
