Paralives Looks Like a Promising Sims Rival, But Needs Work
Paralives, now in early access, began as a solo project from Alex Massé, who previously worked on PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator. Massé launched a Patreon to fund development, grew the team into Paralives Studios, and released the game in early access on May 25th.
The game splits into two main modes: Live and Build. Live has you guide Paras through daily tasks driven by moods and physical needs, with short activities and longer goals that grant experience points. Build pauses time and offers deep customization: you can resize beds, windows and doors by dragging, curve walls, use a pipette tool to clone items, and change nearly every color.
That freedom makes Build feel almost like a different, technically advanced drafting tool grafted onto a cozy life-sim. Live mode feels rougher.
