Obsession's box-office bonanza outpaces Spielberg's Disclosure Day
Disclosure Day will make $44 million domestically in its opening weekend, a stronger-than-expected start. The film's opening ranks fifth among Steven Spielberg's wider filmography and is the best launch for a new IP from Amblin Entertainment. Worldwide, it's on track for $92.9 million by weekend's end.
Obsession is the weekend's bigger story. It's expected to gross $19 million over the three-day weekend, a 25% drop from last week, and was made for just $1 million. The horror film has grown in popularity since its May release and is now outgrossing titles such as Backrooms and The Mandalorian and Grogu in its fifth week.
