Myha'la told the Today show on Jan. 9 why she and husband Armando Rivera kept their Jan. 5, 2025 wedding private and only revealed it a year later, according to People.

"I was just tired of people calling him my fiancé. That's my husband. That is my husband!" she said. "Bless him. The patience on that man." She said the ceremony "[happened] at home in our apartment with just our close family and our cats," adding, "One of my best friends from college officiated for us, and another friend of ours from New York took the photos." At HBO's Industry season 4 premiere on Jan. 8 she called the day "absolutely perfect" and said she was "exhausted from how hard I was crying the whole time because I was so happy."

The couple revealed their marriage on Instagram on their first anniversary, Jan. 5, sharing several wedding photos; Myha'la wrote, "If this is how you’re finding out, promise we didn’t tell most everyone 😗," and said they were "Endlessly grateful to our friends and family for helping make this day so very magical." They began dating after meeting over Instagram DM in late 2020, per W Magazine, and announced their engagement on July 17, 2024, by sharing photos of matching silver engagement rings.
