Levine and Prinsloo ask court to strike parts of decorator’s injury suit
According to People, Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo filed a motion on Jan. 20 asking a court to strike portions of a lawsuit brought by their former decorator, Shana Kallen, who alleges she was injured while working at their Montecito home.
Kallen filed an initial complaint in May 2024 and a second amended complaint in December 2025, alleging she fell from a ladder in March 2023, suffered a traumatic brain injury, was in a coma for two days and underwent a craniectomy. Her complaint says she now requires hearing aids and prism glasses, had her driver’s license suspended, faces a reduced life span and other damages; it requests more than $25,000 in general damages and lists future medical costs of $3 million to $4 million.
The couple’s motion says Kallen’s punitive-damage allegations are “boilerplate” that do not show the malice, fraud or oppression needed to sustain punitive damages and characterizes the accident as, at most, "passive negligence." The filing also argues claims that they acted with “reckless disregard” and “malice” are insufficient and contends the award of future medical damages is prohibited by civil code. A representative for the couple had no comment, and Kallen’s attorney has been contacted.
Property records cited in the case note the Montecito home was purchased for $52 million in 2022, listed for $65 million in July 2025 and sold for $60 million in October 2025.
