The Financial District turned orange and blue as New York celebrated the Knicks' first NBA championship in 53 years. A ticker-tape parade ran about a mile along Broadway's Canyon of Heroes from Battery Park to City Hall and was expected to draw over one million people.

Fans filled the streets in orange-and-blue gear and many arrived before dawn. Viewing pens opened at 6 a.m. and were full by 8 a.m.; the city suspended subway stops south of Canal Street and closed the Brooklyn Bridge. At Fulton Street, officers designated exits for workers who had to show work IDs to pass.

Spectators climbed trees, poles, and ledges to find views, while some people needed medical assistance and an ambulance became stuck in the crowds. Mayor Zohran Mamdani rode a parade float with player OG Anunoby and later hosted a ceremony at City Hall. Jalen Brunson celebrated on the route with the Larry O'Brien Trophy after the Knicks clinched the title with a 94-90 win in Game 5 against the San Antonio Spurs.
