Keychron wasn't officially at Computex, but I caught up with its CEO, Nick Xu, in a corner of the show and got a sneak peek at some upcoming keyboard goodies. The most striking item was a carbon fiber concept keyboard—it's barely there, yet the carbon fiber shell still feels solid.

That board is a concept piece brought to show just how low Keychron can go, though I'm told there's a chance it might become a product sometime next year.

Not a concept is a new ultra-low profile magnetic keyboard, which the company claims is "the world's thinnest optical or magnetic keyboard, you don't even notice it's magnetic." You will notice the switches when you look at them or start to type, because they offer a level of travel you don't get with a scissor switch or membrane keyboard.

The unit I handled was an unnamed prototype, with a few rough edges you don't normally see on Keychron's boards. The company expects to ship something around the end of the year, and hopefully by then the keyboard will have a proper name.
