Kathleen Kennedy to leave Lucasfilm and outlines status of Star Wars projects

Kotaku reports that Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down as Lucasfilm president after holding the role since George Lucas left following the Disney deal in 2012, and in a Deadline interview she discussed the status of several Star Wars projects. Kennedy said she has been planning the exit for a few years and hand-picked her successors, Clone Wars creator Dave Filoni and ILM manager Lynwen Brennan.

She told the outlet she remains interested in working with AI, will continue producing future Star Wars films including Ryan Gosling’s Starfighter and the upcoming Mandalorian and Grogu movie, and felt Disney had grown reluctant to take risks on projects like Andor.
