On Monday’s “Tonight Show,” Jimmy Fallon poked fun at President Trump after Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado gifted him her Nobel Peace Prize during a White House visit last week.

Fallon joked that Mr. Trump hung the medal “on the wall right next to his McDonald’s customer of the month plaque.” He also replayed Mr. Trump’s reported comment, “She offered it to me,” and quipped, “Yeah, ’cause you told her to. It’s the same reason your doctors let you eat fries inside the M.R.I. I mean, it’s not normal.” Seth Meyers added that Trump had “accepted a secondhand Nobel Peace Prize with someone else’s name on it.”

The show noted that the Nobel committee maintained the award and prize money still belonged to the original winner; Fallon also joked, “Trump heard and was, like, ‘Wait, there’s prize money? Oh, Maria!’” Late-night hosts used the episode as fodder for further jokes about the episode’s developments.
