Jason Statham's 2008 Thriller The Bank Job Lands on Plex
The Bank Job, Jason Statham's 2008 crime thriller, has been added to the free streaming service Plex. The film, often overlooked amid Statham's action catalog, shows a more vulnerable, everyman side of the actor. Based on the 1971 Baker Street robbery in London, Statham plays Terry Leather, a reformed petty criminal who now works as a married car salesman.
Struggling financially, he accepts a scheme from an ex-girlfriend, assembles a crew of misfits for a high-stakes heist and soon discovers other agendas at play. Directed by Roger Donaldson and produced for $20 million, the movie went on to gross $66 million worldwide.
It holds a 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is Certified Fresh—one of only a few Statham films to earn that designation, alongside Spy, Furious 7, and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels—and has an audience score of 74% from more than 250,000 ratings. The Bank Job is available to rent or buy across platforms, but Plex now streams it free with ad breaks.
