Howie Mandel body-slammed the Golden Buzzer for Yu Hojin's act
Magician Yu Hojin returned to America’s Got Talent for a third time on Season 21 with a new ensemble called Hundred Fingers. Dressed in black, the 10-member group—literally 100 fingers on stage—performed precise sleight-of-hand: wands, cards and feathers appeared, floated, transformed, vanished into puffs of smoke and burst into sparkles, drawing a standing ovation.
Hojin said he had been quietly plotting a comeback since losing to The Mayyas in Season 17, after Simon Cowell suggested his tricks lacked a dramatic finish. This performance was meant to add the extra pizazz Cowell wanted. When the routine ended, host Terry Crews ran to the judges’ table to press the Golden Buzzer, but Howie Mandel had already slid across the table on his stomach and smashed the button with his face.
Mandel told the group, "You guys deserve your own hotel in Vegas," while Cowell confirmed the act surpassed Hojin’s Season 17 work, much to Mandel’s mild annoyance at Cowell stealing the spotlight. Hojin had appeared on the show twice before.
