Ferrari’s Luce is the company’s first four-door, first five-seater and its first battery-electric vehicle, and its appearance has proven unusually divisive. The design was created with LoveFrom, led by Jony Ive and Marc Newson, and some observers detect echoes of Apple and the Lotus Etna concept in the cab-forward glasshouse and wing-like surfaces.

It is said to look better in person than in photos, and certain paint choices like Rosso Dino seem to suit the shape. Aerodynamics drove much of the styling. Ferrari carried out about 6,000 computational fluid-dynamics simulations and more than 300 hours of wind-tunnel testing, including 80 hours with full-size models, to reduce drag while preserving downforce.

The hood and roof feed air over a rear wing, and a network of active vents manages cooling and airflow for either efficiency or performance; Ferrari is targeting a 330-mile WLTP range in the most efficient configuration and offers single-piece machined aerodisc wheels to limit wake losses.
