Embark discusses gear-based entry for Arc Raiders raids
Gamesradar reports that Embark Studios has discussed special Arc Raiders raids that would require players to meet a minimum gear level to enter, design lead Virgil Watkins told the outlet: "Oh, for sure."
Player debates over free loadouts — described in the piece as essential by some players and "the devil incarnate" by others — have led to two commonly proposed solutions: making frees spawn late into active raids, or offering exclusive high-value raids that require better gear. Watkins said, "We've discussed a lot of different criteria for queuing up. And of course, there's other examples out there, like the labs in [Escape from Tarkov] needing a special item to get in and stuff."
The developers have considered the idea but, as noted in the coverage, have said they don't want to "segment the player base too much." The article does not report a confirmed plan to add such high-value raids.
