Elgato Embrace review: polished look but falls short at $499
Elgato’s Embrace is a respectable first chair from a brand known for creator tools. It favors a clean, grown-up look that suits both streams and meetings, but at $499.99 / £499 the gap between the marketing promises and the reality is wide; there are better options that deliver more or cost less.
Assembly is fast and simple—the seat cushion arrives pre-attached so setup takes only a couple of minutes. From a distance it presents as an understated, camera-ready office chair with minimal branding, a single colour and a single size. Much of the construction is plastic beyond the main seat unit, which keeps things quiet but never feels especially premium.
The Embrace includes the usual ergonomic adjustments: seat height and depth, adjustable lumbar support, a five-step recline, 4D armrests and a detachable headrest. The breathable mesh back is softer than many alternatives and the lumbar support offers height and depth tuning, though the vertical range may not suit taller users.
