Driving Porsche's most powerful car—and no, it's not a 911
Meet the new Cayenne Turbo Coupe: a fastback, dual-motor electric SUV that makes 1,139 hp (850 kW) and 1,106 lb-ft of torque (1,500 Nm). With a 113‑kWh battery pack it sprints from zero to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds, making it Porsche’s most powerful production car and one of its quickest, trailing only the Taycan Turbo GT.
Unlike that pared-down electric sedan, this Cayenne Coupe is pitched as an everyday hauler for passengers and cargo. Porsche says the Turbo’s rear motor borrows a Formula E cooling concept—placing a cooling system between the stator and rotor—to sustain higher power without overheating.
The shared 113‑kWh pack charges at up to 400 kW for a substantial portion of its curve, holding that rate until the pack reaches half full and not dropping below 250 kW until about 75 percent. For home charging, Porsche offers a wireless pad that identifies and guides the car into position and delivers 11 kW with about a 10 percent efficiency penalty versus wired charging; the pad costs roughly $8,000.
