David Beckham says children must be allowed to make 'mistakes' after Brooklyn rant
David Beckham made a cryptic comment about his children’s "mistakes" hours after son Brooklyn Beckham’s viral rant, Pagesix reports. He appeared on "Squawk Box" Tuesday morning and spoke about "the good … and the bad" of social media, saying, "What kids can access these days, it can be dangerous.
But what I have found personally, especially with my kids as well, [is] use it for the right reasons." He added, "They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids. You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes." The 50-year-old shares son Brooklyn and children Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, with wife Victoria Beckham.
Beckham did not address Brooklyn’s Instagram Story tirade from Monday and dodged questions about "constant" headlines surrounding the family. He also stayed silent at the World Economic Forum’s 56th Annual Meeting when a reporter asked whether he had a message for Brooklyn or minded "family business … being aired in public." Brooklyn, 26, accused his parents of "controlling" his life, said he does not "want to reconcile," and defended his wife Nicola Peltz; reports say he has demanded contact only via lawyers.
