Critical Role Campaign 4 shifts focus to the Seekers table
Polygon reports that Critical Role Campaign 4 will move its spotlight from the Soldiers table to the Seekers table after Game Master Brennan Lee Mulligan announced the change in episode 11. The series returned this week to the godless, unstable world of Aramán and reunited viewers with the Soldiers following episode 10, "Blood for Blood." The Soldiers had sneaked into Castle Delawney in Gormolay searching for Teor Pridesire’s long‑lost brother, Cyd; they were discovered by House Tachonis' soldiers, engaged in bloody combat, and prevailed.
Episode 11’s cold open revealed that the Seekers—Sir Julian Davinos (Matt Mercer), Vaelus (Ashley Johnson), Thaisha Lloy (Aabria Iyengar), and Occtis Tachonis (Alexander Ward)—are three days' travel out of Dol‑Makjar, making their way through the Dvalmar Pass toward House Tachonis' ancestral lands in the Obridimian Empire to discover the house's plans.
At Campaign 4’s outset it was established that, after a multi‑episode overture, the story would follow three tables: Soldiers, Seekers, and Schemers; the overture ran into five and a half episodes, and by episode six the show had been following the Soldiers. The Seekers table is described as focusing on lore, cosmology, magic, and questions about divinity and the arcane, versus the Soldiers' combat focus.
